WA Election SCANDAL: Babies Born Alive (Media Cover-Up)

00:00:00:00 - 00:00:14:14
Unknown
Why go to the polls this Saturday? And a big fight has broken out about the issue of babies born alive after their abortion. The health minister says this is a lie. It's misinformation. Totally made up a brave lone Liberal MP is also an emergency.

00:00:14:14 - 00:00:19:21

Doctor has said that it's not what's the truth? And that's today on the Doctor Joe Show.

before we get into the video, I'd really appreciate if you could hit the subscribe button that you see below the video. It really helps the video to reach more people. And if you could hit that subscribe button, I'd be very grateful.

00:00:32:00 - 00:00:34:13
Unknown
So today we're talking all things way.

00:00:34:15 - 00:00:50:24
Unknown
But before we get into the meat of this issue of our babies born alive and left to die in, important to go through the backstory a big fear. So stick with me. In 2023, the West Australian Labor government used government time to introduce an abortion up to birth bill.

00:00:50:24 - 00:01:14:01
Unknown
their pitch was modernization, and they worked with the media to push out this narrative. So let's look at some of the headlines from the time. Time to fix outdated and cruel laws, fight for women's rights. Minister vows to bring WA laws into the 21st century. It was all framed as being about decriminalization, modernization and stopping this cruel, barbaric oppression of women.

00:01:14:07 - 00:01:32:24
Unknown
It was almost like the West Australian newspapers. With taking the press releases straight out of Ambuja Sanderson and Roger Cook's Mass. So they're the labor people, and just printing it verbatim on the page. It was like they were in cahoots. And these media organizations became a mouthpiece for the WA labor pro-abortion government.

00:01:32:24 - 00:01:46:13
Unknown
The West Australian describes itself as a socially progressive paper, so it's hardly surprising that they were pushing out these headlines. But it does make you think twice about accepting what you read in these papers when they're clearly pushing a politically motivated, pro-abortion agenda

00:01:46:13 - 00:01:47:11
Unknown
a bit of context.

00:01:47:11 - 00:02:14:09
Unknown
I'd only been doing this work advocating for the human rights of children in utero for about 12 months, when the WA debate happened, and I was contacted by some MPs in WA to assist. And so I wrote a research report, which looked at some of the key issues. And I worked with labor MP Kate Dask and also Liberal MP Nick around to introduce some amendments that weren't linked to Labor or Liberal, but just tried to modify some of the harsher elements of this law.

00:02:14:12 - 00:02:38:14
Unknown
To be clear, the whole law itself was cruel. It allowed abortion up to birth for any reason, instead of for them to say they were modernizing this law to deal with a cruel prior abortion was actually, this was a really barbaric, extreme and cruel law that, that was modeled on the laws in other states that just allow abortion for any reason without any regard to the human rights of babies.

00:02:38:14 - 00:02:57:14
Unknown
In fact, that just was not in the frame at all. And so when I got involved in this, I was pretty early on in my advocacy career, I guess. And, I was determined, however, to to make a difference. I produced this research report, that looked at the data and the evidence, looked at some amendments that could be made.

00:02:57:14 - 00:03:13:18
Unknown
And probably the most significant amendment was an amendment around babies born alive. And it simply say that if babies survived their abortion, they should be entitled to equal treatment and care under the law. And Kate Dask, the labor MP, was the person who said she would introduce these in the upper house.

00:03:13:18 - 00:03:34:16
Unknown
Something that I was struck by was how disengaged the WA community felt with this bill and what was happening in their Parliament. It was such a radical bill. You wouldn't have got that if you read the media headlines. But you also felt that the people themselves, even the pro-life community, was really disengaged in no other Australian state. Was the debate so disengaged?

00:03:34:16 - 00:03:41:22
Unknown
And you can see that in the vote in the lower house, the vote passed on the voices. They didn't even ring the bells and call for a division. So

00:03:41:22 - 00:03:46:10
Unknown
in WA, abortion up to birth passed unanimously in the lower house.

00:03:46:10 - 00:03:50:17
Unknown
Even the liberals fell in line and was speaking in favor of this bill.

00:03:50:17 - 00:04:02:20
Unknown
there was one labor MP, Bill Johnson, who actually happens to be the husband of Kate Daoust in the upper house. He voted on the voices against the bill, but other than that, it was a unanimous, support for abortion up to birth.

00:04:02:20 - 00:04:20:04
Unknown
And when I flew over there, something that really struck me was, you know, we organized a community town hall which had capacity for maybe 300 people to come. This was in the very week that the bill was being debated in the upper house. And Kate Darcy speaking, Nick Garen and myself. And yet we weren't able to fill the room.

00:04:20:04 - 00:04:51:00
Unknown
There were empty chairs and the protesters outside these crazy, unhinged, pro-abortion protesters, they they were making way more noise and seem to have way more passion then. And that really struck me about the level of disengagement. And I know there will be pro-life people in WA feeling maybe hurt that I'm saying this, but I, I think if we really believe that abortion kills human beings en masse, and this was a new law that was introducing it up until where for any reason, we have to be angry.

00:04:51:00 - 00:05:10:10
Unknown
We have to be making more noise. And these protesters who are screaming, we really have to demand that our voices are heard and, and and for there to be empty chairs in a room on a community town hall. The week that the bill goes to a vote. That to me was absolutely shocking. And an indictment of how low we've come and how we need to regroup.

00:05:10:10 - 00:05:36:03
Unknown
And I do think that if that same town hall was held today, now almost 18 months later, we would see a different tone. And I do think that things are growing and the movement is rebuilding again. But it does, you know, cause pause for thought. Have Christians and ordinary people can get so desensitized to this issue that they hit the pause button and they just refuse to involve themselves in it or engage themselves in it?

00:05:36:03 - 00:05:58:16
Unknown
It's almost like they just think, oh, it's a done deal. It's I'm not going to make a difference. And and what we see time and time again from human history is that when one person makes a stand, it has this ripple on effect. And we're going to talk about, that today actually, in terms of a very brave Liberal MP who's made a stand, and I believe that his comments will have a huge effect, lasting consequences on this debate in WA, far beyond this election.

00:05:58:16 - 00:06:18:24
Unknown
So when Kate introduced this amendment to say that babies who survived their abortion should not be left to die, and, you know, this is something that really every reasonable Australian would agree with. Emma Sanderson, who's the extremely radical left pro-abortion minister for health, tells the West Australian newspaper that this is a Christian misinformation campaign and it's a lie.

00:06:19:02 - 00:06:26:12
Unknown
And she specifically says there is no such thing as a failed abortion. Babies are not born alive and left to die.

00:06:26:12 - 00:06:34:10
Unknown
Either she was deliberately lying, in which case she's just evil or she doesn't know the facts, in which case she's unbelievably incompetent.

00:06:34:10 - 00:06:53:12
Unknown
But the words came out of her mouth that the newspaper quoted verbatim without any kind of critical thinking. Babies are not born alive after their abortion. Now. I then get up on social media in her, in her face and show you the Hansard, which, you know, her own representative in the upper house, Sue Ellery, answers a question from Nick Garan,

00:06:53:12 - 00:07:03:04
Unknown
who asks how many babies have been born alive since 1998, in Western Australia, and what medical intervention was given to these babies after they were born.

00:07:03:06 - 00:07:24:24
Unknown
From this answer, and it's flicked up on the screen right now, you can see that 31 babies in WA have survived their abortion, and then you can see the response that no medical intervention or treatment was was recorded in relation to these babies. So they weren't given palliative care. They weren't given resuscitation or life saving intervention if that was appropriate in the circumstances.

00:07:25:03 - 00:07:44:13
Unknown
Now let's compare these to if a woman goes into labor prematurely and her baby comes out at a very early gestation, 22 weeks, 23 weeks, you're going to have a clinical assessment at that point, which determines, okay, so if we give active resuscitation and lifesaving treatment, what are the prospects for this baby? And that's the that's the calculus.

00:07:44:13 - 00:08:04:05
Unknown
When you've got a baby who's wanted, who's premature. Equally, if you've got a baby who's who's wanted and very much loved prior to 22 weeks. So prior to viability, they will give active palliative care. They won't just dump the baby on a kidney dish in a room covered on a blanket, and we wait for that baby to die in the most inhumane, barbaric, torturous circumstances.

00:08:04:05 - 00:08:24:03
Unknown
No will actually intervene and wrap that baby in a blanket, cuddle that baby and hold that baby till they pass. Put morphine on the lips, things to and measures to ensure that it's not just comfort care, but it's palliative care so that that baby isn't suffering. They're treated like a human being with dignity. Now, these 31 babies in WA who have been left to die, this didn't happen to them.

00:08:24:03 - 00:08:27:11
Unknown
The West Australian doesn't quote any of this data or report any of this.

00:08:27:11 - 00:08:47:12
Unknown
and what's absolutely astounding is not just that Sanderson's law allows these babies to be left to die. She introduces a new law which takes this monstrosity one step further, to the point that there's a cover up. And the clause that she introduced says that if a baby survives their abortion, there should be no mandatory referral to the coroner.

00:08:47:14 - 00:09:06:06
Unknown
So that's putting these babies in a completely different class a person to any other West Australian. So everywhere else in the country, when you have a death, you get an unexpected death. It gets referred to the coroner. Amber Jane Sanderson is saying with these babies, we should cover up their plot. We don't want to refer to the coroner.

00:09:06:08 - 00:09:29:22
Unknown
And this goes against, Greg Cavanagh, who's a coroner in the Northern Territory, when he looked into the case of Jessica Jane, who survives her abortion, he actually says it is one of his three recommendations that all babies who survive their abortion should be mandatorily referred to the coroner so that they can be assessments of what treatment and care was given to that baby and how they were looked after, and the cause of death and what their final minutes and hours were.

00:09:29:22 - 00:09:53:01
Unknown
In Jessica's case, she survived that 80 minutes on a metal kidney dish. So, you know, Emma Jade Sanderson's here with this clause goes even further, but there's no scrutiny of that. And the Liberal leader herself, who, you know, the liberals try to pretend that they're not as radical as labor on these issues or as labor is the Greens, but really it's just cloaked in this veneer of politeness and respectability.

00:09:53:01 - 00:10:00:15
Unknown
But Libby met him, the liberal leader of WA. She is just as bad. Let's take a look at what she said.

00:10:00:24 - 00:10:26:00
Unknown
Indicting the reporting of live births following an abortion to the coroner, introduces an unnecessary intrusion into these lives, potentially compounding the emotional burden they already bear. It is our duty to ensure that the experiences of patients and their families are met with understanding and empathy, rather than subjecting them to additional stresses.

00:10:26:08 - 00:10:45:04
Unknown
So it's really hard to even know what she's banging on about here. She says that it could compound the suffering of these people if their cases are referred to the coroner. So is she talking about the babies, the babies on the metal conditions who are gasping for air and struggling to breathe and just desperate for human contact?

00:10:45:04 - 00:11:06:24
Unknown
Or is it their suffering that she's worried about now? I think when we read between the lines, what she's really talking about is that it could compound the suffering of the mother. If, if, if the case involving her dead baby or her baby that was born alive and then left to die is referred to the coroner. I think that's what she's talking about here, but it just speaks to her total inhumanity.

00:11:06:24 - 00:11:32:17
Unknown
It's like she's a robot. You know, it's like something from some Apocalypto movie in the future where we just, totally okay with discarding human beings, and. And she's just, you know, she's she's that's what she's saying is totally fine to do these these babies. And and not only is it totally fine, but let's not compound the suffering of the stronger party, the people, the abortionist, the mother who's gone in to kill her baby, the parents, the mom and dad.

00:11:32:19 - 00:11:51:24
Unknown
Let's let's not let's not put them through any more stress. Because, you know, having to do some more paperwork and a coronial review could, could compound their suffering. Wait, where is the consent for the baby? Liberty? Where is the consent for this newborn West Australian? Who is he's technically a citizen of Western Australia because they're born in that state.

00:11:52:05 - 00:11:56:24
Unknown
And you, just like Amber Jade Sanderson, want to collude to just sweep their plot totally under the rug.

00:11:56:24 - 00:12:00:20
Unknown
Reporting this to the coroner is an admission that this is a human being.

00:12:00:20 - 00:12:09:18
Unknown
A little baby that has just been killed. And I can't tolerate that. They they don't want any of that to be recognized and acknowledged under the law.

00:12:09:18 - 00:12:15:08
Unknown
Their whole evil pro-abortion agenda rests on the dehumanization of these children.

00:12:15:08 - 00:12:21:04
Unknown
Like, like any genocide. And that's why they're so keen to cover it up

00:12:21:04 - 00:12:36:01
Unknown
and the crazy thing is, not only did the upper house vote against giving these babies an equal right to care if they survived their abortion, so they voted against the Cate amendment. They also voted for Sanderson's bill, which allows these babies to not be reported to the coroner.

00:12:36:01 - 00:12:56:18
Unknown
So the bill got passed unamended. And, you know, we're now a week away from an election, and the Liberal Party has been so keen, like David Christopher Lee in Queensland. And we saw this last year so keen to just avoid abortion altogether. They've gagged their members on abortion. They're not allowed to talk about abortion. Labor's tried to whip up a scare campaign that it made gets elected.

00:12:56:22 - 00:13:20:17
Unknown
She's going to review and roll back abortion laws. The liberals had have had not and so that made him have been really clear about that. But then on the weekend Libby met him was standing next to Tom breath. Now he's an emergency doctor. So knows about what patient suffering is firsthand. You know, he literally deals with people in the very final minutes and hours of their lives.

00:13:20:17 - 00:13:30:12
Unknown
So he knows what that looks like, you know? And and he's standing next to her and he gets asked a question about abortion by a reporter. Let's watch.

00:13:30:17 - 00:13:36:11
Unknown
Do you think that we need to review abortion laws?

00:13:36:13 - 00:14:02:07
Unknown
Yes. Why? Because, babies born alive, should not be left to die. Braff was asked to clarify, but simply repeated his comment that babies born alive should not be left to die. Our health minister came out firing. He is now making comments that are misleading and misinformation about actually what occurs in abortion care.

00:14:02:18 - 00:14:28:03
Unknown
A bit of context here. This was an announcement that the liberals were making about funding to a hospital in Albany, which is a marginal seat. There's been an aggressive campaign between Labor and Liberal for this seat. And Tom brief is doing very well. So they they woke up to do this announcement. And the journalist you can see that's an ABC journalist who's deliberately trying to set him up with a question that she knows is like putting a cat among the canaries.

00:14:28:03 - 00:14:45:10
Unknown
and every other liberal politician knows that the answer that you have to give to that is not comment. But Tom doesn't do that. He, he he just speaks from the heart and says the thing that's actually true. And he answers the question. He says babies born alive should not be left to die.

00:14:45:10 - 00:14:54:09
Unknown
That's not the party line. He's Liberal leader. Libby, madam is standing right next to him, and she's the woman that voted to cover up the plot of these babies lock, step and barrel with the Labor Party.

00:14:54:09 - 00:15:00:18
Unknown
And yet, Tom stand his ground and says babies born alive should not be left to die. Now, this shouldn't be such a courageous act.

00:15:00:18 - 00:15:23:21
Unknown
It tells you something about the appalling state of politics in our country that this is a courageous act. But it is. Tom Bluff was incredibly courageous to just say yes. I think abortion laws should be reviewed. We've gone too far. And one of the ways we've gone too far is that right now, under abortion laws, babies are born alive and left to die.

00:15:23:21 - 00:15:30:18
Unknown
And what's really hard is that he makes this statement knowing that there's going to be a media pile on just for speaking the truth.

00:15:30:18 - 00:15:49:24
Unknown
So the ABC, channel seven, channel nine, they all report on this in the nightly news. And none of them, none of them refer to the 31 babies who survived their abortion and been left to die. All of them, quote Amber Jade Sanderson. And we saw her just straight away fronting the cameras, saying, this is a complete lie. It's misinformation.

00:15:49:24 - 00:16:13:15
Unknown
She's quoted in ABC news as saying, these babies are peacefully held until they die. There's not one iota of evidence for that. There's there's absolutely no evidence she hasn't released Wha termination and pregnancy guidelines that show a policy framework that recognizes the dignity of these babies. There's there's nothing there's literally no policy framework that that has been revealed.

00:16:13:15 - 00:16:30:13
Unknown
There's no case notes or anything. She just said that these babies are all peacefully held until they die. The media laps it up, repeats it repeats her quotes about this being misinformation, and don't bother to do any of the work to show that actually, there are 31 babies who survived their abortion and been left to die. And that's in the Hansard.

00:16:30:13 - 00:16:39:14
Unknown
It's it's fact. And yet no media organization has reported this, and every single media organization has jumped on Tom bluff.

00:16:39:14 - 00:16:46:06
Unknown
So where does this leave us? If you're a white voter, I'm going to ask you to make this the issue that you govern your vote on.

00:16:46:08 - 00:16:57:24
Unknown
Because in my view, the way we treat our most vulnerable has far reaching consequences. And how we then respond to the budget, to health, to education, to aged care, to any other policy issue that you might be passionate about.

00:16:57:24 - 00:16:59:22
Unknown
This issue actually shows us

00:16:59:22 - 00:17:03:20
Unknown
It's a litmus test of how humane a politician or political party is.

00:17:03:22 - 00:17:22:05
Unknown
Now, only one political party has committed to introducing a bill that would protect babies who survived their abortion, and that's Australian Christians. So in the upper house, I'm going to ask you to put Australian Christians. Number one. It doesn't matter whether you're Christian, Muslim, Buddhist or atheist. They need to be number one because they have committed to introduce a bill that protects these babies.

00:17:22:07 - 00:17:39:15
Unknown
If you are in the lower house, if you're in Albany, obviously vote for Tom roof. He's a hero in every other seat in the lower house. I'm going to say to you, go to your Liberal candidate and ask them what is their position on babies born alive? And if they answered in the affirmative that they're going to protect these babies, then vote for that candidate.

00:17:39:15 - 00:18:01:15
Unknown
But if they're too gutless to even tell you that in an email or privately, then vote for number one Australian Christians. Number two, One nation put labor and the Greens last because they are aggressively pro-abortion. And labor has announced that in this campaign, they're going to be spending even more money of the taxpayer on abortion. So Greens and Labor have to be last.

00:18:01:17 - 00:18:06:01
Unknown
But that is how I would vote if I was in this election. And that's what I'm encouraging you to do.

00:18:06:01 - 00:18:15:22
Unknown
So thank you for listening today. Guys. If you know someone and we forward this video onto them so that they can be educated about this issue, and I look forward to seeing you next time on the show.
